New York Shark Game
Nearly 1.5 million “played” on Armor Games website, isn’t bad at all is it? New York Shark (a game by Felix Wiesner), sponsored by New Grounds website and Published by Armor Games was one of the most popular games in 2012 and still is in 2013. Though it looks awfully like a game Effing Worms, in which you play as a bad guy (a big alien worm) that eats people and everything else on its way, grows big and evolves. Well NY Shark is basically the same, a good copycat to the Effing Worms 2.
Though, there are minor differences between EW and NYS. In New York Shark, you can’t eat/bite everything, also the game is more dynamic and it’s not easy to see everything what’s happening on the screen. On the positive note, there is more humor in NYS then in EW. The point of the game is to score as much as you can. There are lots of powerups you pick up on the way, but because of crazy dynamics it’s not always clear what the certain powerup does.
Despite minor inconveniences, New York Shark is an excellent flash game to kill 10-15 minutes, sometimes even more, it is kind of addictive after all. Also, there are cool moments in the game like “bite the Kong’s head” input, you may spend good 5 minutes figuring out how exactly can you bite its head off but it’ll worth a while. Unlike EW, in NY Shark controls take some time to adapt to, how to jump really high or how to bite certain objects, though, it’ll take up to 5 minutes learn everything there is to know about the game.
And finally, if you like the game New York Shark, there are couple of more like it, from the same game developer, well, in the exact same style called: Miami Shark and Sydney Shark, these are basically the same only the action set in different locations.
